South African Cultural Observatory

Data

The collection of measuring statistics for the social, economic and cultural dimensions will be guided by the UNESCO FCS (2009). Within this framework, international classification criteria have been identified; to this in-house expertise will be added, in close collaboration with Statistics SA; Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and Human Sciences Research council (HSRC).

With the overall aim to produce a single local set of measures within the international domains that are internationally comparable and defined. The FSC is a detailed tool for organising, measuring and classification of cultural statistics.
